Cacao black pod rot is a disease that affects cacao trees, caused by several species of Phytophthora. This disease can lead to pod rot, branch death, and stem ulcers. It can be controlled by methods such as spraying chemical agents. In orchards where the disease has just begun, an immediate application of a mixture of 60% cuprous oxide and 12% metalaxyl at a 300-fold dilution is recommended. Spraying should be done once a week in humid weather and every 3-4 weeks in dry weather, continuing until the fruits mature.

1.Cocoa swollen shoot virus(CSSV):It is a viral disease that causes the buds and shoots of the cacao tree to swell abnormally and the leaves to deform, which can eventually cause the tree to die.
